On Passing Debt to Children
I should stop reading the news, it's not like the talk about anything important and all I hear is Dem carps of the day. Then I read this:
Dean said that passing on debt to children was a Republican value that Democrats didn't share. He said that it's not a Democratic value to get in new ethics trouble every two or three days, which has been the rate lately for House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.
Just a quick question, Mr. Dean. If Democratics values don't include passing on debt to children, why do you continue to prop up a regressive tax burden on the children to pay for Social Security that they will never get? When you have a system where the working pay the retired, is that not, in effect, burdening children with the debt of a near-bankrupt system?
