DI Letters to the Editor
I got two DI letters to my last column. Neither address the fact that it was, in fact, Mayor Nagin who left 500 buses to get destroyed instead of evacuating his people.
What does this have to do with anything? Nothing.
Jason, a history major, has never read anything that has filled him with such anger as when I call someone who is a communist a commie. I got a good laugh at least.

That is some good reading there Mr. Bambenek.....sometimes I wonder how these kids pass a single class....then I remember that most of their "professors" are idiots also....

Loved your editorial & laughed at the response letters. It's amazing how these lefties deliberately missed your point...they are so good at that. I read a lefty friend's blog which had a long, long entry explaining why the head of FEMA, the head of Homeland Security, and George Bush should all resign. I replied with a simple comment stating that if they should all resign, why not the Mayor of NO and the Governor of LA? Several other readers jumped all over me. I ended up in a ridiculous 3-against-1 argument over whether or not the white house had the right to move federal troops in without the approval of the governor. Apparently, they would all prefer to accuse me of being dead wrong about that (without any evidence other than stating that what I said was "simply false" and "nuts". Ummm....ok.), rather than admit that the local authorities were just as much to blame as the feds, which is all I was trying to say. I didn't even say they were MORE to blame (although I think they were.) I vowed to my husband never, ever, to post on that blog again. Not because I don't enjoy a good debate, but because this simple debate (among FRIENDS, mind you) became a forum for sarcasm and name calling. Nice.
