Unions Have to Pay People to Protest Walmart
Picketers for Hire: The strange business of protesting jobs that may be better than yours
The Unions pay people $6/hr to protest the Walmart and provide no benefits while they sit out in the sun. Walmart pays more, offers benefits, and has air conditioning inside.
Does anyone else see this as silly that they have to PAY people to protest a Walmart?
No one cares.

I find it ironic that one of the picketers worked for Wal-Mart at $8.63 an hour, quit for personal reasons and is now picketing at $6.00 an hour. Brother. Go back in and re-apply.

What is wrong with hirering pickets? If Walmart wanted to get rid of them, they could offer them jobs. Seems to me you miss the fact that the level of skill and knowledge required to do tasks is some how related to the compensation appropriate. It is entirely possible holding a sign at $6.00 an hour is much better than taking abuse and being discriminated against at $8.63. It isn't all about the money.

Working for a pittance under extreme weather conditions, to picket working conditions that are far superior and if they do a GOOD job and are effective, they get discarded.
The Union at least is smart to use Temps they avoid Workmen's Comp Costs Unemployment Costs in effect ALL the responsibilities that they demand from employers they negociate with.
I am not anti-Union I am in one, but collective bargaining is between the WORKERS and the Business, NOT someone from outside trying to impose their values on both the workers and the business. throw in using these temps and I don't like the total picture at all.
