The War on Terror has been Won

Today, Bin Laden has offered a truce. He has been beaten and knows it so he wants time. Holding up a white flag is not the sign of a victor, it's the sign of defeat. He's losing Afghanistan and Iraq and he wants to save face by getting out before those countries turn against him. He wants time to build "good will" by mimicking the image of the US in those countries, that of a rebuilder and friend.

He knows he cannot win with terrorism there, so he wants to wait.

Good thing Clinton's gone (for now). He would probably send Madeleine Notallthatbright over to bin Laden's cave to sign peace accords.

Bin Laden is a criminal, not a head of state. He has no ability to make a peace treaty, he is trying to look legitimate in the eyes of the world.

"Based on what I have said, it is better not to fight the Muslims on their land," he said. "We do not mind offering you a truce that is fair and long-term. ... So we can build Iraq and Afghanistan ... there is no shame in this solution because it prevents wasting of billions of dollars ... to merchants of war."

It's too early to call victory. With guys like Bin Laden you have to use Ronald Reagan's words, "Thrust but verify". Osama crashed the planes without a word of warning like cowards do; always acting behind the shadows.

Destroy Bin Laden and its followers. Then start rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan. Killing a close follower of Bin Laden hurt him and he's barganing for time. Don't stop, keep attacking him. You can run but you can't hide. Sooner or later the American forces will get him and anihilate him for good. He has done too much harm.

Yogui Berra used to say, "The game ain't over till its over". The battle is not over yet, even though they are feeling the hurt.

Bin Laden hasn't lost. If anything, he won today. Because this audio will only influence people/followers and make them want to fight even more.

America is in an endless war that we cannot win. We cannot afford to stay the course any longer. A new strategy for "winning" must be enacted.

RESPONSE:

He offers truce, you offer surrender. Interesting strategy for victory. Hope your reading up on your Koran...

The Mean Stream Media will spin and spin on this one, but you are correct.
Pssst, I think George Bush directed the military to let the goat loving mullah of the caves, (o.b.lardin) live, so that we could trackback to those perverts who sleep with him in caves.
We are knocking them off one or two at a time, from our taxpayer’s unmanned but well armed drones. Do you think the terrorists are looking up to the skies occasionally?
And what about the Chief Frog of France on the same day, announcing that he would command his military to nuke any nation that sponsores a huge terrorist attack on France. Seems like the world may be trying to catch up with us.

But put on your thinking hats, and you’ll realize.

They want us to protect them, since they can't protect themselves, so they are rattling the saber and hoping America hears them. .It would be hard not to help the Europeans beat back the hordes of islam. but I would hope our nations leadership would demand retractions of all of the official hatred spewed out at America, when all we have been doing is protecting ourselves. We can forget a lot of the claptrap that the Europeans have thrown our way, if they really are repentant, not just scared and peeing their boxers. The USofA has the only battle hardened warriors upon the face of this planet, and we are not about to lose this war, unless we the voters let the Democrats take over the War Against Islamist Terrorists……. and the truth is sinking into the thick skulls of the European Nations. They know they are a target, and a much easier target for the islamafacists to strike than America.
Thank God George Bush was in the Oval Office in 2001, and not Al Gore. Have you heard how insane Gore is lately?

Yup, this is a pretty lame conclusion that the "war on terror" has been "won". Hmm...I'm surprised you're not holding up a damn banner like Dubya embarrassingly did years ago declaring "VICTORY ACCOMPLISHED".

You must be awfully young and naive. Or just naive. Take your pick babe.

RESPONSE:
Offering a truce isn't often the action of the winning side...

Comment quote: A new strategy for "winning" must be enacted. - end quote -

- And we must wait how long for the new strategy to be trumpeted? - After the next presidential election?

re: "VICTORY ACCOMPLISHED". - The sign said, "Mission Accomplished". - For the men on the ship Bush stood on it was! - Bush declared "one victory" in the war on terrorism and an end to major combat operations in Iraq. -

MAJOR means, no more armies of terrorists pounding over hills of sand like in the movies. The sheep violators are hiding in caves!

- JCB - You are 100% 'right on!' in this post. The naysayers don't want to admit that there is a brand new nation that is democratic as opposed to socialistic. - Keep on posting. It ticks off the left!
